Aldebaran InteractIve
faQ
Q: This is neat and all, but where's your proof that any of this is real?
A: Unfortunately, I don't have much. When I say "my sources", I'm mainly referring to two people who claimed to have interaction with either Aldebaran or Sylairn. One was a reporter and the other had interviewed to be a web developer for Sylairn. There are a few others, but their reports are either spotty or seem to conflict with what I already know for fact.
The reporter gave me the pictures of the MGEC and the games the games Aldebaran was working on, along with the transcript of an interview he had with the developers. The web developer told me a bit about how the company was structured and their goals (both of which are ultimately what led him to decline their job offer).
These two individuals have asked remain anonymous, and I respect that. The web developer in particular asked me not to circulate too much of what he had told me. Something about "fearing the repercussions", though I'm not sure what a dead company can do to him.
Q: Has anyone found an MGEC or a game for it?
A: As of now, no. Since it took so long for Sylairn to get the MGEC into production, they likely ran out of money before they could even get the thing out the door and onto shelves. I'm hoping they're all in a waste dump somewhere, like that batch of E.T. carts Atari dumped. Either that, or they were scrapped for parts during the liquidation of Sylairn (which is definitely the worst and most likely outcome).
Q: Did your sources give you anything tangible to support their stories?
A: Again, the reporter gave me some pictures that he had taken. Other than that, someone gave me this piece of paper that they claimed was 'integral to finishing a game'. Seems to be a part of an instruction booklet or game guide. He also gave me a copy of some of the email correspondence between Aldebaran and Sylairn, which seems to support the claim that Sylairn was definitely off their rocker. At least when it came to obfuscating the MGEC's internal workings. I don't understand how you could expect a company to make games for your system when you're completely unwilling to teach them how it works. You can check the links below to look at these.
